Who is John Jones? Why is the council so eager to install him as city Attorney? Have I seen any advertisement for the position of city attorney on social media, or the city website? I see Covid Updates, I see low cost spay and neuter clinics, Junteenth, Patti Labelle… but no Ordinance 1577 and no announcement that you’re seeking qualified employees.
Does the community know that Shenkman & Hughes, consisting of Kevin I. Shenkman , Mary R. Hughes and John L. Jones II along with the R. Rex Parris Law Firm among others served as Plaintiffs and Respondents to sue the City of Palmdale? In case you need a refresher course on how we arrived at a districted city instead of an at-large election like Lancaster, I have the case right here for you. I also have the case where Rex, Jones, Shekman and Hughes sued Santa Monica.
Are you really doing your due diligence in researching a replacement for Chris Beck, or are you doing what someone else is telling you to do. I’m sure we all remember Mr Shenkman calling in during the districting conversations but it’s interesting that people so connected to Lancaster and Rex are so supportive of John Jones as interim city Attorney.
Don’t say “Oh we’ve looked.” because I’ll ask you WHERE!!! Obviously you’re looking in the wrong places if you’re picking from the people who’ve sued your city. Changing a title doesn’t change the position and who you’re putting in that position does NOT need to be a litigator who’s worked against your community once before. Which group is whispered in your ear to install John Jones and that he’d be a good choice? We’d all like to know.
We are your greatest ally and a powerful resource, but understand that your community will not silently go into that goodnight if you sell us out. There is the capacity to overwhelm city employees with more signs than they can candle and residents will be notified that you’re selling us out faster than you can wake up tomorrow. Section 3 of the California constitution says you’re supposed to be instructed by your constituents, these are your instructions: DO NOT INSTALL John Jones to ANY city position because the quid pro quo will be VERY VISIBLE. If you do, EVERYONE will know that you’re selling out Palmdale for Lancaster’s leftovers.
If Jones was such a benefit to the community, he would have already been installed in the city of Lancaster. The community of Palmdale has found its voice and it doesn’t come from Lancaster or R. Rex Parrisite’s office.

De veras están haciendo tu trabajo en reemplacar Christopher Beck o solamente están haciendo lo que otra persona te dice que hagas. Estoy seguro que reconocen al Sr Shenman llamando a la ciudad cuando estábamos discutiendo los distritos, pero es interesante que gente tan conectada a Lancaster y Rex apoyan tanto a John Joned para abogado mientras.
No digas, “Hemos buscado.” porque te pregunto DÓNDE!!! Obviamente estas buscando en los lugares equivocados y escoges una persona que ha demandado tu ciudad. Cambiando un título no cambia quien eliges a poner en la posición y quien están escogiendo no debe ser alguien que ya ha trabajado contra tu ciudad una vez. ¿Qué grupo te dijo que era una buena selección? Todos quieren saber.
Somos tu aliado más poderoso y activo, pero entiende que tu comunidad no se van mudos en la noche si vendes la ciudad. Tememos la capacidad abrumar los empleados con avisos informando al público de la venta de Palmdale a Lancaster antes de subir el sol. La parte 3 de la constitución de California dice que deben ser instruidos por la comunidad, estas son tus instrucciones. NO INSTALAS John Jones a NINGÚN posición en la ciudad por que la compensación será bien visible. Si lo apuntas a la posición de abogado, todos sabrán que están vendiendo Palmdale parte a parte a la ciudad de Lancaster.
Si Jones beneficiará a la comunidad tanto, lo hubieron instalado ya en la ciudad de Lancaster. La comunidad de Palmdale encontró su voz, y no se originó en Lancaster por las oficinas de R. Rex Parasito.
