Good evening School Board. My first time appearing before you was last session, but it was not my first time attending, or the first time you’ve read my words via your virtual sessions. The first time I attended physically, a disruptor caused your meeting to be closed and created headlines; front page in fact. With my activism, I’m kindof used to it. Last session, I gave a powerful speech reminding you of the blatant discrimination we’re seeing in our disctrict regarding these vaccines using sneetches as an allegory. That speech has Twenty Thousand views on Tik Tok and climbing. Honesty has a way of catching people’s attention, and my work is not without danger. I’ve had my personal information posted on freeway overpasses, light poles, theater marquees, and my husband has also suffered similar threats to his business because of my voice. Speaking publicly about the dangers that threaten our children is part of my message, so why do people want me to stop?
We’re taught by our educators and society not to judge people by their appearance yet, I’ve been verbally berated for what I wear on my body, accused of being a sell out for how I wear my hair, and harassed at the two meetings I’ve attended physically. The individual who disrupts your meetings, interrupts speakers, calls me names, and even goes so far as to threaten me with a weapon on your property is trying to remove your children’s protection. Cancel the Contract is a dangerous organization dedicated to removing all school deputies from all campuses!! That’s lunacy!!!
The massacre at Parkland Highschool in Florida, taught us that the authorities have no actual obligation to rush in and stop a school shooter. When an active shooter was on his campus, that resource officer ran the other way and was not punished for it. This man who was hired to protect children, RAN! I was taught to stand your ground and stand up for others by more than my parents, my teachers taught me this too. When the twin towers fell and people ran away, one group ran into the toxic debris cloud without a second thought. We want these same types of people to protect our children too. We want them to run towards the danger to neutralize the threat, not away from it.
Now in speaking of neutralization, I’d like to thank the board for their actions to remove Miss Isabel Flax permanently for her behavior, and threats of violence. Threats that have been documented with the Lancaster Sheriff Department Report Number T-424 / Disturbance on November 10th, 2021 along with corresponding evidence. Thank you very much.
