Dear Netflix I’m cancelling my membership today.
My Reason: Propagandizing youth with LGBTQ+ media. The trend started several years ago when a roommate used my netflix account. I worked hard to suppress the flurry of LGBTWQ+!@%4 movies, shows and content. I’m a gay man, why do I want to see my own life or a characterization of it?
Finally after almost two years of skipping the genre and pretending it didn’t exist, it was no longer recommended to me. I became excited for shows like Castlevania, Sword Art Online, the remakes of Voltron, and She Ra. That is, until I watched the last one. She-Ra is produced by Netflix and not an outside studio and the main character is a Lesbian. I almost wretched at the intersex lizard character. “How is this for kids?”, I thought.
Netflix lost tens of thousands of viewers in the past few months forcing them to rethink their programming, while other sites, like the Daily Wire see an explosion of membership. Today, I became one more drop in an endless wave of fiances draining away for this market trailblazer. I enjoyed their CD trade in program because I like to watch obscure movies, but I don’t like the deliberate mouthfeeding of LGBTQ propaganda on the streaming platform.
The Series The SandMan was supposed to be a marvel of cinematography and story. All I saw was abusive heterosexual relationships and “happy” gay couples. I use quotes because often those relationships were dysfunctional or irrelevant to the story. I even stomached Ellen Paige’s transition into Elliot Paige on The Umbrella Academy, but no more. I’ve made my decision to take my money elsewhere.
Goodbye,
Mario Presents
