Thank goodness for those indigenous people who saved the pilgrims all those decades ago. Indigenous people, or the “Diné”, have struggled in this country against a government that tried to destroy them.
Pocket nations called reservations exist within our borders, but few realize the abject poverty these communities endure. Poisoned, restricted, and oppressed, these people will not give up. Their oral traditions are among the best in the world and will not allow past transgressions to be repeated; This gives me hope.
