Tagline and hashtag speak has become this generation’s signature. In an age when post script is obsolete a hashtag is an effective signature that gets your final thoughts seen. The fact that they’re searchable aids in centralization of similar thoughts or sentiments.
The hagstag #WalkAway has gained traction while the hashtag #BringBackOurGirls has all but been forgotten. My good friend developed her own signature taking a nod from the Drag houses of yore and adding a conservative twist; #HausofMAGA. Houses in gay culture offer protection when you get cast out of your homes or community. In New York, Drag Queens became house mothers who opened their homes for discarded LGBTQ youth. Houses had rules and they became as families do, dedicated to the the success of their children. Expulsions were common when personalities and ambitions collided, but houses competed in ballrooms for clout and status, so children rarely bucked their mothers.
In the last 20 years, the expulsion of LGBTQ youth by their families has dwindled, but it still happens. More and more people have become accepting of queer persons, so when it happens, our society reels in horror and Americans from all over the country pledge to help the displaced gaybie.
Gays are often the light of the party, the creative inspiration, and the person who doesn’t change because of who they love. We pay taxes, we live our lives and some even worship a creator. I stand on the corner in an austentacious outfit because I don’t fear what someone will say, others do. I get told that my courage is admirable and I get sent messages of “Thanks” for being who I am which humbles me, every time.
I created my own hashtag because I want everyone to have a positive experience with this culture that shows nothing but hate and viritol to people like me. Gays for Everyone has become my tagline because I’m not part of the regular LGBTQ group. I’m your warrior and I champion EVERYONE’S rights afforded by the constitution. I’m a proud American who happens to be gay and isn’t afraid to use it as a club against the Chruch of Stonewall (LGBT libs).
It’s also tounge in cheek… You get a gay… You get a gay… Everyone gets a gay!
