Tonight a the City Council meeting I concocted the most devious plot to encourage our city leaders, at minimum, to put our ordinance up for a vote; and soon. Last session I noticed a very interesting fact about the public comment portions of the meetings. Individuals were allowed to speak on specific agenda items for up to three minutes each item, plus their allotted three minutes during general comments. I found my target, a filibuster.
Tonight the council was slated to vote and discuss on eight items before 10:30pm end of session. I was prepared with seven speeches all geared to redirect every item to Ordinance 1577. By the end of the night, even I was tired of hearing my own name and the glare that I got from the mayor during my final speech made it worth every moment.
My idea was simple, effective, and frustrating. I employed every trick in the book to keep the audience entertained and donned a different mask every time I stepped up to the microphone. The Council was afraid of a sideshow, but a sideshow is exactly what they host every week when we see our leaders maskless at events with nary a foot between people, but maintain that we must wear masks to speak to them. I gave them bite size Mario Presents with a focus that circled back to the Freedom Ordinance every time. Enjoy.
10.1 Continuing Teleconference Meetings of City Councils
In this digital age where people can see the face of a loved one hundreds of miles away daily, it’s important to stay abreast of the latest technology. I’m happy to support Agenda item 10.1 because the Palmdale Freedom Coalition ended the state of Emergency that allowed teleconferencing without a continuing resolution. Our city has a board member with cancer who has proven that they can continue to perform their duties, even though they are not present physically. People buy and sell property with the click of a button, and get their pet food delivered to their doorstep with little human interaction.
Palmdale City has strict rules surrounding their representation and a council member must have a principal residence in the district they represent, not just their mother’s home, or a rental property that they sometimes stay in. Teleconferencing allows leaders to have personal lives outside of their city lives and maintains the constant connection with their duty. Your duty is to your city and the community has shown that they have compassion as well as conviction. Every month you have to continue to vote for teleconferencing, but for over 120 days, you’ve stalled on our Freedom Ordinance.
I support resolution 10.1 and also want you to put Ordinance 1577 up for a vote so that we can identify the freedom loving council members, and the ones who are willing to sell out their community for the County of Los Angeles.
10.2 Rename a Section of Ave R-12 (Between 65-70th St East)
Hawks way, how very Lancaster… but we’re in Palmdale. This section of road is directly connected to Pete Knight High School and won’t affect any addresses or residents according to the staff report, but it will cost the city & $700 to do.
Street Sign: $150.00
Labor & Material: $300.00
Staff time: $250.00
Hillview Pass, Lobo Lane, Falcon Street, Cougar Court. None of these streets exist and naming a street after a school mascot does nothing for school pride. Especially when school mascots change with social climates. The $700 price tag is justified as an already used allotment for 2022 infrastructure, however driving the streets in Palmdale, that money could be used to fill a pot hole on your boulevard.
I’m not even going to remark on the Labor, Materials, and Staff Time because the $500 price tag to do this project is literally paperwork. The sign, per your report, costs $150. Thirty minutes of time and a ladder replaces ONE street name with a $700 price tag.
In a time when people are struggling to make ends meet, our city is concerned with the potential cost of litigating Ordinance 1577 but happily spends tax money for a street sign because it encourages school spirit. I think not! As a lifelong resident I oppose this misuse of my tax money purely because of the exclusion it represents to all other schools in our community. The city is easy to navigate because of its numerical format. Lost visitors quickly orient themselves but when the streets are no longer alphabetical or numerical directions get convoluted. Now, does Sherman Way come before or after Saticoy, and does it run parallel to Reseda, or perpendicular?
10.3 Resolution to Support the Recall of George Gascon
As a thirty plus year resident and activated community member, I agree with Agenda Item 10.3. When George Gascon made his first visit to our courthouse after his election, I met many victims of his terrible policies.
A woman gave up four years of her life caring for a disabled child because a drunk driver paralyzed her daughter who ultimately succumbed to her injuries. She was told that Gascon’s policy allowed the driver to escape prison time and was living freely among our community. This was not their first offense. My uncle was also killed on Thanksgiving Eve 15 years ago driving home from Northrup to Lake Los Angeles by an intoxicated motorist.
I met a mother who shed tears for her son who was impaled by an arrow in the chest. The enhancements that kept her son’s murderer behind bars were being lifted by none other than George Gascon. Tanya Owens regularly speaks about her husband’s execution and how Gascon’s policy is attempting to free his murderer.
I’m encouraged to see you willing to protect your community by supporting the Recall of Los Angeles George Gascon, but are you willing to protect your community’s medical Freedom with Ordinance 1577? The first recall of Gascon failed, but as you can see, it will not stop people from attempting to save their community.
The Palmdale Freedom Coalition won’t stop either. Our population has created these monsters because the population is uninformed. No more. The first recall of Newsom failed because no one knew about it, but as they say, if you at first you don’t succeed, try, try again and eventually it was put on the ballot. The people are waging an uphill battle against tyranny and you can help them, or get out of the way.
10.4 Approve Legal Services Agreement with City and Bradley, Gmelich, and Wellerstein
Regarding Item 10.4 I need to ask a few questions, which I probably know the answer to. Bradley, Gmleich, and Wellerstein is the same firm that has advised this council against Ordinance 1577, yes? The cost to the city for their legal advice and protection comes with a $250,000 price tag. Are there local firms like Derryberry & Associates, or Los Angeles based Early, Sullivan, Wright, Geyser & McRae who you can contract that will defend our city’s freedom? Have you even asked?
In every contract, or commission we must re-evaluate the performance before their renewal. Did this firm advise you against a city loan to an appointed employee? Did you even consult with them about the possible legal ramifications of such a motion amid such turbulent times?
Early, Sullivan, Wright, Geyser & McRae were paramount in bringing down critical race theory in Santa Barbara when it first appeared and they are representing freedom loving patriots all over the state. Watkins & Leftofsky has been working diligently to save people’s jobs but your firm, for $250,000 told the City of Palmdale, don’t pass this ordinance because we might see a legal challenge. I’ve never seen a law firm shy away from a case that defends the rights of the citizens to be free, I have now. I disagree with the city’s decision if they continue the service agreement without first researching other firms. I want our city to partner with people willing to fight for freedom like the 25 lawyers who signed the declaration of independence, along with their peers, the 31 merchants, doctors, and land owners.
11.2 Continuing to allow the sale of flavored E-cigs
Agenda item 11.2 allows the continued sale of flavored E-cigarettes in our community. As a former smoker, electronic devices have helped me abate my habit in a way that is less offensive to people around me. Here the city is taking a hands off approach and defending retailers against the encroaching State legislators. In this instance the city is openly disobeying the Senate because they want to give retailers time to reduce inventory, then the shutdown, then the legal challenge.
I support your open defiance and compassion with the retailers, but on one hand you’re helping and on the other, you’re allowing the County to harass them for covid violations. Where is the consistency? The sale of tobacco products funds many projects so it’s safe to assume that if there’s a financial benefit to your community, you’ll do it. Ordinance 1577 empowers your businesses to resume life normally and generate revenue for the city.
Do not allow any outside entity to run your city. We, the citizens, implore you to protect us and our charter gives you greater flexibility over the laws and actions than you’re willing to admit. If you are willing to protect the city’s wallet, why are you unwilling to protect your electorate’s bodily autonomy?
11.3 Banning of Smoking in Public Spaces
Do my taxes pay for sidewalks? Do my taxes pay for public parks? Do my taxes pay for bus benches?
Does my revenue fund the Golf Course? Does my revenue fund the restaurant? Does my revenue keep the ATM in working order?
The answer to all of these questions is yes, so why then are my personal choices in these places dictated by you? As a former smoker I can attest to the irritation I feel when an inconsiderate person puffs away in a large crowd. However that is more often the exception rather than the case.
The majority of smokers excuse themselves and self isolate to enjoy their habit. Smokers choose eateries and bars that provide places for them to smoke on patios while non smokers choose places that rabidly control their air quality. This self segregation is a choice, just like the choice to smoke. Our health experts once upon a time touted smoking as healthy, just like the masks and vaccines, but today we know smoking causes health issues and masks are debilitating our children.
Buying and indulging in tobacco is a personal choice, like vaccinating should be, but dictating where they smoke by edict or ordinance is akin to bullying and exactly what we’re seeing with the health passports. Malibu has a no smoking ordinance and they still have smokers. This ordinance will not solve the problem of smoking in public, rather it will frustrate the public. Your job is to enhance the lives of your residents, not make life more difficult. These people are not pariahs and relegating them to the outskirts alienates them. Please do not estrange more people in your community than you already have by passing Ordinance 1571. Instead, let the people live freely from coercion and threat by voting NO on Ordinance 1571 and Passing Ordinance 1577 proposed by the freedom coalition.
Public Comment
Le Crete, Alberta, population 3,500, defied the odds and did not shut down amid the pandemic that has crippled the rest of the world. They are seven hours away from their governing seat of power and the draconian enforcement of mandates or the “authorities” who enforce them. This tightly knit community chose to stand together rather than apart in isolation. Often called the Menonite capital of the north, similar to the Amish, they put their faith in God over all else. Grace Life church, the second largest faith in the community, feels similarly and also resisted the lockdowns. Their faith calls them to meet uncovered every week and did not forsake in person fellowship at the request of the County governance. Faith encouraged this community to defy laws of man when the laws of man are unjust, and defy they did. They did not however deny the facts surrounding a new virus, they chose to reveal them with education.
Chambers of Commerce, School Districts, and City Councils around the world didn’t resist the shutdown, instead they sought reimbursement for lost days and added expenses like masks for employees. The Chamber of Commerce in La Crete facilitated testing while the City government represented the will of the people and did not shut down, social distance, sanitize every surface, distribute masks, or mention vaccines to any resident. The entire community continued life as normal. The City Council, School Boards, and Local Chamber of Commerce all honored the will of the people by staying open as the County and State of Alberta incentivized vaccination with $100. Meanwhile, the Chamber of Commerce partnered with a private testing firm for the community.
Rebel News reporter Sheila Gunn Ried is double vaccinated and regularly tests antibodies with a friend who is NOT vaccinated and who has recovered from the disease. Both remain at >250 U/ml of antibodies in the blood which is the highest level of testable immunity. However, only one of these two women can live freely in their city. The whole community of Le Crete did this same experiment on a large scale. Residents tested voluntarily and paid for out of pocket to send their blood out of the country to check for Covid-19 antibodies.
With no coercion by society using threat of termination, exclusion of activities, and bombarding propaganda, the 35% vaccination rate was purely driven by choice because all activities in Le Crete did not require a health passport or mask. This rate is also similar to the average rate of vaccination of the influenza shot every year. 1 in 3 residents chose to participate in the 2 year study, and of the 1200 volunteers, 991 were unvaccinated. 89% of the unvaccinated population showed a response to Covid-19 and subsequent recovery with measurable spike proteins. The head of the testing facility agreed that the community of Le Crete officially reached herd immunity; without a shutdown.
The Pandemic is officially over in Le Crete. How long until this news reaches the rest of the world, or at least Palmdale?
