4 days ago I made a video talking about how easy it is to be homeless in California. Yesterday I took some out of town friends to see the stars on the “Walk of fame”. We saw the names of stars and starlets, but only one belonged to our President.
The problem of homelessness is seen everywhere in our city and no place is immune. If you want to see it from above, check out the the Facebook page “A Dying California“. The most tragic images I saw was when there was a tent in front of a building that proclaimed “We work” and vagrant sleeping across the street from the mental health clinic.
Blue Californians want more money to help the homeless by repealing Prop 13 and claiming the money will go directly to solve the problem. Blue Californians have also made themselves rich off of the homeless. Remember Katie Hill? Yeah, she was elected because she grew a homeless program’s budget.
They’ve made it illegal to clean up encampments, because if a city doesn’t have enough beds, people should be free to live in public spaces. We’ve also closed shelters that required mental health evaluation and drug treatment lowering the number of spaces available.
California needs help. Fast.
