Standing on the corner in Brea wearing heels

Today I attended my latest rally in Brea California. It was an hour and a half drive each way, but I turned up my music and the time flew by. I formulated what I could be asked and fashioned responses that didn’t ramble or were incoherent.

This time I flew solo and my husband worked, yet I didn’t feel alone. Some fantastic people from across my social media circle were there and we’ve become “rally friends”. Photos were taken, videos are being shared across the web and here I am, in Facebook jail. No matter, I’ll upload photos later and it’s only a social media site, the memories are are permanent.

Apparently my sign had an impact and guided patriots to inquire about us from off the street! This guy pulled over and wanted to know more about us. Sure one or two haters gave the single finger salute, but with 4 corners of the intersection filled with flags and signs our energy was infectious. I had a wonderful conversation with my friend from “That’s the Point” about Drags, kids, and trans, because while we don’t agree on everything, we find common ground in our values and it was nice to help him be informed about the differences within the LGBTQ culture. That’s what friends do, communicate, help, and most importantly, educate.

Of course I wore the most austentacious shoes in my closet and turned it up to 11. I literally stood for 2 hours in 7 inch Swarovski stilettos to cheer for our President. People remarked and took pictures, but shattering the media built stereotype of Trump supporters is priceless; besides an outfit this fabulous demands to be seen.

  1. Love you Mario. It’s real Americans like you that make me think there is still hope for our republic.
