With all this winning… or is it whining… kids these days are using the term “woke” to represent new revelations that they never thought about. If you’re tolerant and accepting of transgenders, you’re “woke”. If you’re hip to the underground beats that are fresh as the new Kaepernick Nikes, you’re “woke”. There is an awakening coming, and it’s not the one you think. The people are rustling and the blinders are coming off.
The age old argument that parties switched sides or that Lincoln was a leftist are as old as the rumors of “La Llornoa” or “The Mothman”. Any history book will tell you that Republicans freed the slaves and that disenfranchised Democrats started Jim Crow. The pundits and scholars point to the great programmes of the 1960’s that wooed the black community to the democrat party to champion their cause. Blacks gave Democrats their vote, and blacks are still waiting to succeed in numbers that rival their red/white/blue blooded Americans. What your textbooks DON’T tell you, is that the Democrats got their butt whipped so hard once upon a time that they needed a facelift.
Ronald Reagan took the country by storm much like Donald Trump and in 1980, the Electoral Map looked very different.
He followed his first term as president with a second and the electoral map showed JUST how popular conservatism was in 1984.
Notice anything strange? Reagan is represented in blue… but aren’t Republican’s supposed to be in red?
