Winds of change

Smoke & ash cover my state, the scent of campfire lingers in the air each morning, but I smell something new. A Newsweek poll found that support for Donald Trump among gay men is pushing 45%. The winds have officially turned in conservative LGBTQ favor, now we need to steer the ship to the middle because we play a very important role in the conservative movement, and a special role on the battlefield. We can all agree that middle America has our back but the extremes of both sides make others believe that we’re small, anomalous, perverts. We need to change that.

Many gay men are D.I.N.K’s, dual income, no kids, so they pay attention to finances carefully. That plays well for an economic message, because they will be a part of the “high income/tax bracket” and suffer heavy taxes under Biden. Naturally everyone wants to pay as few taxes as possible and the LGBTQ are no exception. We’re also strong men who often want to be fathers too.

In the queer community, defending ourselves has become second nature and even a drag queen’s witty comeback is an attempt at self defense. Heterosexual men forget sometimes that under the facade of lace, lashes and lipstick is still a man. I take that strength to the streets when I rally and I run “interception” for our men. When Antifa and blm started to weaponize their women against our men because our men don’t hit women, I immediately put myself in the crossfire as tribute. I look those women in the eyes and tell them, “My men won’t hit a woman, but this faggot will slap a ho around like the bitch she thinks she is. Equal rights, equal fights.”

Immediately they begin to recede into the crowd because we’ve seen videos of gays and girls fighting and the girls lose every time. Just like trans boys competing with cis girls, the physics of our bodies give gay men and trans women the upper hand. A sister patriot who is a trans woman, walked into Chop zone DC and dared them to strike. None of them took the bait. Optics of a masked assailant hitting a trans woman in a MAGA hat would immediately send shockwaves through the country. No one was hurt, so the incident was ignored.

That moment was the moment I started running defense in stilettos at my rallies. The Proud Boys that I’ve met appreciate my tactics and even have a motto for us, “Our gays are better than your gays. ” Thank you Georgia PB’s for sharing that tidbit with me; I think so too.

As election day creeps closer, the news is telling us to be prepared to defend ourselves regardless of who’s elected and gun sales reflect that. Defend our homes, defend our husbands, wives, and our kids. For gay men, children are often a decision. Sure there’s the latent homosexual with 3 kids, but many gay relationships who have children are in fact adopted. They live normal lives and would defend their babies with every fiber of their soul; strong men.

As we gain greater acceptance in the conservative movement, it’s important to exemplify the traits that led us to this place. A high moral standard, boldness of character, and true diversity. Kamala may have slept her way to the Vice Presidential candidate nomination, but Richard Grenell earned his appointment. This is the #HausofMAGA and like our heroines often say, “You better werk!” We don’t go to rallies because we’re self loathing or ashamed, we walk with pride because our accomplishments speak for themselves, just like Donald Trump.
