Why Mario Presents?

The “Mario Presents” brand name is a presentation of the far reaches of the circus of what’s out there in politics and pop culture; PT Barnum style. I’m a non-traditional family and social person who articulates and defends traditional American family and social values with a delightful weirdness that should be embraced. The trans and other gender bending conservative allies in the circle I inhabit are of the same kind of oddities. I’m hoping to find a way to present this kind of assortment in a positive way that celebrates the peculiar aspects of a diverse crowd without making it a freak show that can be dismissed by the right as people who are probably unstable or a threat to their traditions. These patriots are dismissed by the left and hard right as mentally ill which is how they classify any minority that isn’t a cultural and economic Marxist. Our country was/is trailblazed by an assortment of characters and Mario Presents is looking to showcase them. I think the way to do that is to clearly define the right wing principals that unify everyone. Then, the right wing skeptics can see us as more human because we’re relatable “despite being different”. The left will never humanize us but we can at least rob them of the “they’re just looking for attention/self hating” talking point dismissals.
